About the Job
Paradigm Care & Enrichment Center is a warm, welcoming childcare center providing care and early learning experiences for children from 6 weeks old through Kindergarten. We are looking for dependable, caring, and enthusiastic Assistant Teachers to join our team!
Our Assistant Teachers work alongside Lead Teachers to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment where children can learn, play, and grow. Previous childcare experience is welcome, but not required. We are happy to train the right person who has a positive attitude, is dependable, and genuinely enjoys working with children.
Being a great team player and having reliable attendance are essential for this position.
Responsibilities:
Assistant Teachers help support the daily operation of the classroom, including:
- Assisting Lead Teachers with classroom activities and lesson plans.
- Supervising children and maintaining a safe, attentive classroom environment.
- Engaging with children through play, conversation, learning activities, and positive interactions.
- Modeling appropriate behavior and helping children develop healthy social and emotional skills.
- Assisting with diapering, toileting, handwashing, and other personal care needs.
- Preparing and serving snacks and light meals.
- Helping children during meals, rest time, transitions, indoor play, and outdoor play.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
- Completing daily cleaning and light housekeeping responsibilities.
- Communicating and working cooperatively with Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers, directors, and other team members.
- Following Paradigm policies, licensing requirements, and health and safety procedures.
Qualifications:
We are looking for someone who:
- Is dependable and committed to maintaining reliable attendance.
- Has a positive attitude and works well as part of a team.
- Is patient, caring, and comfortable working with young children.
- Is willing to learn and receive coaching and feedback.
- Can successfully complete required background checks and fingerprinting.
- Is willing to complete required childcare training, including CPR and First Aid.
- Can meet all applicable childcare licensing requirements.
Previous experience working in childcare or early childhood education is preferred but not required. Candidates currently pursuing a degree or credential in Early Childhood Education or a related field are encouraged to apply.
